Itinerary for the day
Our day kick starts 800 to 830 AM pick up at your hotel, meet and greet our guide at the lobby.
After completing our pick up round we head north-west to take the toll high way to Chiquila Port, about 1hr 30 minutes drive. During the drive, we will stop briefly in the small towns before the ferry port; it’s an incredible opportunity to observe the local affairs or this small community.
Arriving at Chiquilá port around 10 am to jump directly into our boat tour, we meet with the crew, their team leader will brief us what we are about to see, and some safety protocols we must follow.
Isla Pasión and Isla Pajaros are two small sandbanks rising barely above sea level. These mangrove systems are crucial to the ecosystem’s overall health; Mangroves serve as a buffer from saltwater currents, it’s a bird and fish nursery.
The sandbanks could be a pop-up cleansing therapy, you just need to cover your skin with this exfoliant sand, leave it to dry and wash it off in the sea, your skin will be tropicalized immediately.
Packed with amazement, we carry on into the main island, Holbox. Our vessel docks downtown, making it very easy to walk around exploring the island.
Our first stop includes the traditional Holboxian breakfast, Lobster empanadas is the go-to option, they serve vegan options too.
After refilling our bellies we take on our Street Art Instagram hunt. Holbox developed an identity that speaks throughout their art. Holbox is part of a network of tropical destinations where the SeaforWalls initiative came along, decorating the island with beautiful and meaningful murals, some of them became super famous Instagram spots, we must take you there to snap a couple of pics for that killer feed!
By 3-330PM we slow down a bit to gather for our beach club lunch meal. Overlooking the shallow sea, digging your toes in the sand while the ice-cold cervezas show up followed by your ultra-delicious tropical lunch.
Free time, we suggest visiting the small art galleries or any of the slow fashion boutiques, there’s a lot to see.
By 630 we rendevouz to catch our ferry back to Chiquilá, where our transportation is waiting for us. During the drive back, you will be offered an espresso from our signature Nespresso bar. The road back to Playa del Carmen and drop off.
